This policy describes how we (the loyaltyday.ro website) use tracking technologies (such as cookies) on our digital platform, what visitor information is collected automatically, and how you can accept or refuse the tracking technologies we use.
The loyaltyday.ro website is owned by Mediaposte Hit Mail, a joint-stock company with its registered office at Str. Siriului, nr. 42-46, 3rd floor, Sector 1, Bucharest, registered with the Bucharest Trade Register Office under number J40/ 8295/ 2000, tax code RO13351917.
Why do we use tracking technologies?
We use tracking technologies on our website:
- so that it delivers the functionality promised to the end user or works more efficiently;
- to ensure improved functionality of our website;
- to provide reporting information so that we understand how visitors use our website and interact with our communication;
- to segment our communication with you and to offer you a personalized experience.
What are cookies?
Cookies are an example of tracking technology. They take the form of small text files placed on your device when you access a digital platform, which are then used to identify your device for the purposes set out below. Cookies installed by the owner of a digital platform are called “first-party cookies”. Cookies installed by other parties are called “third-party cookies”. Third-party cookies allow third parties to provide features or functionality on or through the digital platform (such as analytics features, advertising and video materials). The third parties that install these third-party cookies can recognize your device both when you access our digital platform and when you visit certain other digital platforms.
Web beacons are small graphic data (also known as “Pixel Tags” or “Clear GIFs”) that can be included in our digital platforms and in email messages and are usually used in combination with cookies to identify your device or browser and your online behavior. In particular, web beacons will not be used if you have not agreed to the use of the relevant cookie. Some of our websites and services, such as email messages, may contain electronic images called “web beacons” (also known as “one pixel GIF”, “clear GIF” or “pixel tag”). Web beacons allow us to count the visitors who have viewed the content on our websites or web pages. In email messages, web beacons allow us to count the subscribers who have read them. They also allow us to develop statistical information about the activities and features that interest you the most, so that we can offer you more personalized content. We do not use web beacons to access personal data without your consent.
What information is collected by tracking technologies?
The table below shows the types of information and how you can control whether or not the information is collected:

Targeted advertising
We may deliver targeted advertising to you using cookies and other tracking technologies.
We work with various advertising networks, advertising servers and analytics companies (“Advertising Partners”) that use various tracking technologies (including cookies and web beacons) to collect data about you. This “Online Data” may include the following:
- web pages, applications, products and services you view and links you click on when using our websites and services, as well as third-party websites;
- the email messages you view and the links in those messages you click on;
- whether you view or click on the advertisements displayed to you;
- demographic or interest data, including your general geographic location;
- the search terms you enter when using various search services.
We collect this online data so that we can display advertisements to you based on your interests (which are determined based on the online data about you).
With the help of our advertising partners, we may also display our advertisements on third-party digital platforms. Sometimes, these advertisements are based on the content of the digital platforms on which they appear. Other times, they are generated when we or one of our advertising partners match the advertisements to your interests (which, in this case too, are determined based on the online data about you).
This activity is known as interest-based advertising. Our goal is to present you with the advertisements that are relevant to you. To this end, we and some of our advertising partners use tracking technologies (for example, cookies and web beacons) to collect online data. In general, online data is aggregated together with other data to generate segments, e.g. groups of users and certain interest categories that our advertising partners have defined based on a variety of factors.
In addition, we and our advertising partners use this online data for several other purposes, including (a) for reporting website traffic, statistics, advertising data and other interactions with advertisements and the websites on which they are delivered, and (b) to determine the effectiveness of advertising delivered via the web and via email messages.
Google Analytics and other website analytics tools
Google Analytics – This digital platform uses Google Analytics, an analytics service provided by Google, Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses cookies to analyze how users use the website. The information generated by the cookie about the use of the website (including your IP address) will be transmitted to Google in the USA. Google uses this information on our behalf, for the purpose of evaluating your use of the digital platform, compiling website activity reports for us and providing us with other services related to website activity and internet usage in general. Google will not associate your IP address with other information it holds.
As shown in the table above, you can object to the collection and use of this information, cookies and IP addresses, by Google, by downloading and installing a browser plug-in from here.
Access these links for additional information about the terms and conditions of our use of the Google Analytics service, external references, information provided by Google regarding data privacy and security, and Google’s data privacy notice.
Google Analytics Remarketing – This feature makes it possible to associate advertising target groups created with Google Analytics Remarketing. In this way, personalized, interest-based promotional messages, which were adapted based on your previous usage and browsing behavior on one device (mobile phone), can also be displayed on another device (tablet or PC).
Google tag manager – This is a service that can be used to simplify adding tags to the site. Tags are pieces of code with multiple functions, including measuring traffic or visitor behavior. By inserting them, Google tag manager provides information about the actions performed by users on the site, for example, viewing a text, making clicks or filling in a form.
Facebook Ads – This feature allows targeting of target groups based on their interaction with various types of content on the Facebook and Instagram networks or on information provided by users when creating a profile.
Your consent and how you can withdraw it
When you visit the loyaltyday.ro website we display a banner asking for your consent for the tracking technologies that are not strictly necessary for the operation of the website. Until you make a choice, only the strictly necessary technologies are active; the analytics tools (for example, Google Analytics) do not place cookies on your device and work without identifiers that track you between visits.
The banner offers you two equally visible options: “Accept”, by which you give your consent for the analytics technologies, and “Essential only”, by which you refuse them. We do not pre-select any option. Your choice is stored on your device, so that we do not ask you again on every visit.
You can change your mind at any time. On every page of the website there is a “Cookie settings” link, which reopens the banner with both options. If you withdraw your consent, we stop collecting analytics data and delete the analytics cookies previously placed by us on your device. Withdrawing your consent does not affect the lawfulness of the processing carried out before the withdrawal.
You can also delete or block cookies from your browser settings, as described in the sections above.
